About the author
Kerri Turner is an Australian author of three historical fiction novels, The Last Days of the Romanov Dancers (2019), The Daughter of Victory Lights (2020), and the upcoming The Magpie's Sister (2023). Having trained for a career as a ballet dancer, she eventually realised her love for dance stemmed from the history surrounding it, and the complex stories told in the classical ballets.

She turned this passion into words, writing historical novels and anthology contributions that connect to the performing arts across different countries and many different eras.
Her short stories have appeared in The Art of Being Dangerous: Exploring Women and Danger Through Creative Expression (2021), as well as with the Dangerous Women Project, Catchfire Press, Underground Writers, Stringybark, and Reflex Fiction. She has appeared as a public speaker for the Heroine's Festival (2019), Adult Learner's Week, and International Women's Day (2020). She lives with her husband and a rambunctious but lovable miniature schnauzer called Sully. |
